At the beginning, there were paintings by old masters from Caravaggio’s time. The analysis of their light structure, the play with light and form, colour and materials led to a building game, to a new interpretation. Analogous effects, produced by old craqueled mirrors, influence the reproduction. The models see them-selves exposed in the mirror, encouraged by the photographer to engage with their mirror images. This way, the photographer disappears in the background and manages to avoid any direct confrontation between camera and model.
